SASO EER

SASO provides license issuance service using energy efficiency, fuel economy and water rationalization labels after checking the products' conformity to Saudi standards' requirements and related technical regulations.?

Certificate of Conformity should be issued for Air conditioners that comply with SASO 2663: 2014, for Refrigerators and Freezers SASO 2664/2013 and for Washing Machines SASO 2692/2013 need to be obtained from SASO, Energy Efficiency Certificate Number should be then added to Certificate of Conformity after product line description.

For vehicle tyres following SASO 2857: 2016 “Vehicle Tires Rolling Resistance and Wet Grip Requirements” Energy Efficiency Certificate should be obtained, and manufacturers shall affix Rolling Resistance and Wet Grip Label on all tires which are covered by this technical regulation.

SASO also processes Energy efficiency certification as per IEC 60034-30: 2013 “Rotating electrical machines - Part 30: Efficiency classes of single-speed, three-phase, cage-induction motors (IE-code)” for electric motors between 0.75 kW and 375 kW for destination Saudi comply with IE code classification. For motors which are out of scope exemption certification will be issued by SASO.

Also, for lighting products as per SASO 2870 “Energy Efficiency, Functionality And Labelling Requirements For Lighting Products - Part 1”. indirect and direct general lights having a luminous flux 60 lumens to 12000 lumens energy efficiency labels/certificates need to be obtained from SASO for below referred product groups.

• Incandescent lamps.
• Compact fluorescent lamps with integrated ballast (CFLi).
• Halogen lamps.
• Light-emitting diode (LED) lamps (Incandescent retrofit types).
• Light-emitting diode (LED) lamps (Halogen retrofit types).

Energy Efficiency Labels/Certificates may be obtained from SASO by manufacturers or importers through on-line application.
