SABER CERTIFICATION

SABER is an electronic platform that helps the local supplier and factory to register the required conformity certificates electronically for consumer products, whether imported or locally manufactured, to enter the Saudi market. The platform also aims to raise the level of safe products in the Saudi market.

SABER is an online system introduced by Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). It is also mandatory to register Import shipments to Saudi in this system to access the Saudi market. The Saudi Standards, Metrology & Quality Organization (SASO) have developed the “Saudi Product Safety Program” called SALEEM, this platform is accessed by all importers to register their goods and to obtain SABER certification.

Products for which a Technical Regulation has been approved by SASO, those products will systematically require for Customs clearance “Product Certificate” (Product CoC) valid for 12 months & “Shipment Certificate” (Shipment CoC) valid only per shipment.

Products Falling under Supplier Conformity Declaration will require free trade shipment CoC through SABER which Importer may obtain without involvement of CB (Certification Body)

We are excited to inform that GCIQC affiliates are approved Notified Bodies and has been accredited for most of the Technical Regulations. GEO CHEM (Shanghai) Quality Certification Company Limited for Asia and Australia Region (P-CB 0592) and GEO CHEM Independent Quality Certification Services L.L.C. for Middle East & North Africa Region (P-CB 0594).

To ensure the product safety in Saudi Arabia, SASO manages the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM), In Arabic, Saleem meaning is that product is safe, secure, and free of all hazards and harmful elements for individuals, society, or the environment. SALEEM program follows different technical regulations depending on each type of product. As part of this program, SASO also developed the e-platform certification system, SABER (saber.sa) to apply and process products conformity certificates electronically.

GCIQC is pleased to offer technical assistance to comply with the requirements and process of SALEEM-SABER. We are also an accredited Lab who can conduct testing as per the technical regulation and standard for SALEEM-SABER, that makes us your “one-stop solution” for certification and testing services.

There are regular updates and guidelines shared by SASO for getting SABER Product COC and Shipment COCs processed on SABER, Consider GCIQC as your preferred Certification body to process SABER certification and we shall ensure that all necessary guidelines and updates are shared. Through the active involvement our network of offices, associated accredited laboratories and trade experts we will facilitate the process and shall ensure that you get desired certification adhering to all SASO protocols and within earliest timeline.

Every Importer must apply for Product COC using his SABER credentials for combination of Importer, Seller, and Manufacturer, it means for every new supplier Importer needs to obtain a separate PC even if the product is same. That means that a single product may be covered by different Product Certificates, if the same is exported by different companies to Saudi Importer.
